Does VB Spine sell or share my information?
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties so they can provide you advertisements based on your activity across different websites (a practice commonly known as “targeted advertising”).

How long does VB Spine keep my information?
We retain your information in accordance with our legal obligations or for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes.

Scope

This Privacy Statement applies to Personal Information collected through the VB Spine careers website, recruiting agencies, careers website chatbot, Talent Network Forms, sourcing platforms (such as LinkedIn), and social networks where VB Spine recruiters receive candidates’ information from the candidate.

Information Collection

VB Spine collects your Personal Information directly from you, the data subject, in all instances where you provide your Personal Information through the VB Spine careers website or to a VB Spine recruiter, or indirectly in instances where your Personal Information is provided by VB Spine’s partners (e.g. recruiting agencies).

In the last 12 months, we have collected the following categories of Personal Information: identifiers (such as name and contact information), applicant records (such as name and contact information), professional information (such as work history and other details on your CV), internet or other electronic network activity information (such as IP address and browsing history). The precise information VB Spine collects varies based on whether you are joining the Talent Network or applying for a job:

For joining the Talent Network we collect:

Resume/CV, first name, last name/surname, mobile phone, email address, country, city, internet activity and any other data you provide for consideration

For applying to a position, you have to create a profile. For this we collect:

Resume/CV, first name, last name/surname, home phone, gender, email address, address, city, country, state/region/province, postal code, and internet activity
optional: cover letter, work phone, other phone, fax, web address, certificates, references, or similar information
any other information collected in your resume/CV not specifically asked for while applying

What personal information do you collect from job candidates during the application process?

Contact Information: name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and other contact information
Application Materials: CV, résumé, and cover letter
Experience: previous work, practical and other relevant experience
Education: education, including level, type, subject-matter, degrees, diplomas and certificates, and institutions
Position of Interest: positions, roles and opportunities of interest, and if applicable, position offered
Skills: knowledge, skills, languages, and other competencies
Certifications: professional and other work-related licenses, permits and certifications held
Reference Details: information you provide relating to character and work references
Online Account Information: username and password to access the Careers Sites, application identifiers, internet protocol (IP) address and device identifiers that may be automatically collected
Communication Preferences: preferred communication method and language
Event Information: dietary restrictions, travel and accommodation details, government-issued identification to access one of our physical premises, and other details specific to a particular recruiting interview, meeting or other event
Work Authorization: Work authorization status and relevant visa or other immigration information
Conflict Check Information: Information on personal relationships and external board memberships, appointments, roles and other information that may present potential conflict of interest with VB Spine Co, only when requested in relation to shortlisted candidates
Other Information: Any other information you otherwise elect to provide to us (e.g., employment preferences, willingness to relocate, current salary, desired salary, awards or professional memberships)

Purposes & Legal Basis

VB Spine requires you to provide Personal Information when applying to job openings at VB Spine or to join our Talent Network. VB Spine collects and uses this information primarily to assess your compatibility with positions you have applied to or to inform you about vacancies suiting the profile you create on VB Spine Co’s Talent Network. We may also use your Personal Information to improve our hiring process, comply with our legal obligations, and other reasons discussed in detail below.

Some jurisdictions require we identify the legal basis for our processing of your information. In those jurisdictions, our bases are:

Legitimate Interests – to evaluate your application, analyze demographics, reach out to former applicants, build fit profiles, and update you about relevant vacancies.
Consent – when you sign up to receive career-focused marketing communications.
Public Data – when information is manifestly made public by you.
Public Interest – in rare cases where cooperation with government or legal authorities is required.

In jurisdictions that designate parties as data controllers or processors, VB Spine is a data controller with respect to the collection, use, and other processing of Personal Information in connection with VB Spine’s Talent Acquisition efforts.

We do not use your sensitive personal information for any reason other than those permitted by California Civil Code section 1798.121(a) and the associated regulations.

If you choose not to provide the Personal Information we reasonably require, it may hinder VB Spine’s ability to provide the information or services you have requested.

Automation

For certain roles, we use automated tools to assist us in processing and evaluating job applications. These tools leverage complex algorithms and machine-learning technology to assist with the following operations:

Minimum requirements: Automated checks for required qualifications, such as work experience.
Job match ranking: Assigns a percentage value assessing fit between application and role requirements.
Automated scheduling: VB Spine utilizes an AI virtual scheduling assistant. Your recruiter can provide details during the interview scheduling process.

Your data is always handled in accordance with this privacy policy.

Cross-border Transfer

To the extent Personal Information is transferred out of the country where the owner of that Personal Information resides, such as to VB Spine affiliates or business partners in other countries, including in the United States, different standards may apply to how your data is used and protected in those countries. VB Spine has appropriate safeguards in place in accordance with applicable legal requirements to ensure that data is adequately protected irrespective of the country. This includes obtaining written assurances from any third party given access to your data so as to require them to adopt standards that ensure an equivalent level of protection for data as that adopted by VB Spine. If you prefer not to have your Personal Information transferred, do not use this Site.

Privacy Statement for children

VB Spine will not collect any Personal Information from anyone we know to be under the age of 16 without the prior, verifiable consent from his or her legal representative. Such legal representative has the right, upon request, to view the information provided by the child and/or to require that it be deleted.

Disclosures

We have not disclosed Personal Information to third parties, as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines that term, within the last 12 months. VB Spine may disclose Personal Information we have collected to our service providers—companies or agents providing technological maintenance or working on our behalf to help fulfill business needs, including providing customer services and distributing marketing communications. VB Spine may also provide Personal Information to our subsidiaries and affiliates. We may also disclose your Personal Information to others in order to comply with legal obligations or valid legal processes (such as a subpoena), to protect our rights and property, or for emergency/safety reasons. Also, if a business transfer or change in ownership occurs, we may disclose information as necessary to complete the transaction.

VB Spine does not share your Personal Information with unaffiliated third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We also do not sell your Personal Information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising based on your activity across others’ websites (a concept known as “sharing” under California law).

Security

The security and confidentiality of your Personal Information matters to us. For this reason, VB Spine has physical, technical and administrative controls in place to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use and disclosure. VB Spine evaluates these safeguards on an ongoing basis to help minimize risks from new security threats as they become known.
